Invite someone, book on their behalf, and choose how much you want to see about the case.

What sponsored booking means
Sponsored booking lets you pay for a legal consultation on behalf of someone else. You cover the cost, they work directly with the lawyer. You see minimal metadata (status, budget) — never chat or case content.
Sponsoring is common for family members helping a relative, employers helping an employee, or NGOs helping a beneficiary.
Inviting a beneficiary
From Dashboard → Sponsorships → New sponsorship, enter the beneficiary's email, scope (what kind of legal matter), and budget. They receive an email and review before accepting.
Steps
- Enter beneficiary email.
- Pick scope (practice area or "any").
- Set budget (amount, number of consultations, or unlimited).
- Choose whether to see status-only or status + progress notes.
- Send — the beneficiary reviews and accepts, declines, or negotiates.
Sponsorship is consent-based: the beneficiary must actively accept before any booking can be made on their behalf. You cannot book on their behalf until they accept.
Booking modes
Once sponsorship is active, there are three ways a booking can start:
- Beneficiary books themselves — they pick the lawyer and slot, LeyApp charges you.
- You propose a lawyer — the beneficiary still picks the slot and confirms.
- Lawyer proposes (follow-up) — an existing lawyer recommends a follow-up and either you or the beneficiary approves it.
Tracking your sponsorships
Dashboard → Sponsorships shows every sponsorship with budget state (green/amber/red), booking count, and latest activity.
Click a sponsorship to see the full timeline — each booking, each status change, and who triggered it.
You never see chat content, uploaded documents, or detailed case notes. LeyApp enforces this at the platform level — no setting can unlock it.
Payments
You pay at booking creation (Stripe). If the beneficiary or lawyer cancels within the refund window, you receive the refund automatically. Invoices are issued in your name with your CIF/NIF.
For organizations, you can pay per-booking or monthly consolidated — pick the billing mode in Organization → Settings → Billing.
Cancellations
Either you or the beneficiary can cancel a sponsored booking. Refund rules follow the lawyer's cancellation policy (visible on each booking). After the refund window closes, cancellation is still possible but non-refundable.
