Propose a scope change
Adjust the practice areas, lawyers, or validity of a sponsorship's scope.

What this walkthrough covers

Open Edit scope
On the sponsorship detail card, click Edit scope. This opens the scope editor pre-filled with the current values.

Practice areas
Add or remove practice areas. Removing one is tightening (applies immediately); adding a new one is loosening (requires beneficiary consent).

Validity
Optionally set or update the valid-until date. Setting an earlier date is tightening; extending it is loosening.

If it's a pure tightening
The form shows a green notice: 'This change applies immediately.' Submitting writes the new values directly to the sponsorship.

If it contains loosening
The form shows an amber notice: 'Beneficiary consent required.' The proposed values go into pending_scope_changes and wait for the beneficiary to acknowledge.

Submit the change
Click Save. For tightening, the change is live now. For loosening, the beneficiary has 14 days to accept or it auto-expires.
