Understanding cancellations on LeyApp
Life happens — sometimes you need to cancel a booking. LeyApp has a clear, fair cancellation policy designed to protect both clients and lawyers.
This article explains when you can cancel, what refund you'll receive, and how the process works for both parties.
Cancellation policy
LeyApp's cancellation policy is based on how far in advance you cancel relative to the scheduled consultation time.
Policy details
- 24+ hours before — Full refund. Cancel for any reason and receive 100% of your payment back.
- Within 24 hours — 50% refund. Late cancellations impact the lawyer's schedule, so a partial fee applies.
- No-show by client — No refund. If you don't attend without cancelling, the full fee is charged.
- No-show by lawyer — Full automatic refund. If the lawyer doesn't attend, you receive an immediate 100% refund.
Cancel as early as possible. Late cancellations affect the lawyer's ability to fill the slot with another client. Repeated late cancellations may impact your ability to book in the future.
How to cancel a booking
To cancel, go to your Bookings page in the dashboard. Find the booking you want to cancel and click 'Cancel Booking'. A confirmation dialog will show you the refund amount based on the timing.
On the mobile app, open the booking detail screen and tap 'Cancel Booking'. The same refund rules apply.

How refunds work
Refunds are processed automatically through Stripe. Once a cancellation is confirmed, the refund is initiated immediately.
Depending on your bank, the refund may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement. Stripe processes the refund instantly, but banks have their own processing times.
Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days. If you haven't received your refund after 10 business days, contact your bank first, then reach out to LeyApp support.
No-show protection
If a lawyer fails to attend a confirmed consultation, you can report the no-show from your booking details page. Once reported, a full refund is issued automatically. You'll receive a notification confirming the refund.
Fraud protection
LeyApp monitors booking patterns to detect and prevent fraudulent activity. This includes repeated last-minute cancellations, suspicious booking patterns, and attempts to abuse the refund system.
If unusual activity is detected on an account, it may be temporarily restricted while our team investigates. Legitimate users are never affected by these protections.
Before cancelling, consider rescheduling instead. Both clients and lawyers can propose a new time without losing the booking. See our Rescheduling a Booking article for details.
